Recommended: A course of 4 (or more) monthly treatments.
Time: 30 - 45 minutes
Suggested Price: $135.00 each treatment
PROCEDURE: Please follow instructions carefully. Once you apply the peel, you will not have time to gather what you need SO MAKE SURE you have all of the following ready.
1. Cleanse: Thoroughly cleanse face twice with Limu Facial Cleanser (soap free cleanser). Use this cleanser 2 – 3 days before peel also. Rinse really well !!
2. Prepping: Witch Hazel works well for prepping. OR cleanse as above. Let skin completely dry – about 5 mins.
3. Protect: Once skin is completely dry, apply Vaseline to sensitive areas of face – around eyes, corners of the lips and nostrils.
4. Peel: Use a fan brush to apply the peel. First time - the peel is to be removed as soon as you finish applying it. Drop a few drops of the acid on the fan brush and brush all over the face. Re-load brush if necessary to get a full coverage of the face. Avoid sensitive areas like nostrils, corners of lips and thin skin around eyes
5. Time: For the first peel, START NEUTRALISING THE PEEL AS SOON AS YOU HAVE FINISHED APPLYING THE PEEL. For subsequent peels, LEAVE THE GYCOLIC ACID SOLUTION 40% ON SKIN FOR 30 TO 60 SECONDS ONLY. Do not go longer than a minute as the acid can damage the skin. It is normal for skin to tingle while the peel is on, but if skin starts to burn, remove immediately by rinsing face with water.
6. Neutralising: To prevent the acid from continuing to work into the skin, you must neutralise. Home-made neutralising solution – mix ½ cup of baking soda with 2 cups of water and thoroughly drench skin. NB: Make neutraliser up before starting the peel procedure. Then use a cleanser and plain cool water (plenty of it). Do not rub the skin as this may be irritating.
7. Mask: Apply a thick layer of Aloe & Azulene Mask. This mask can be left on skin until fully absorbed or removed after 10 – 15 minutes – to remove use tepid (not cold) water.
8. Moisturise: Apply a generous amount of Herbal Silk Moisturiser over whole face.
9. Sun Protection: Apply Advanced Protection Sunscreen SPF30. Stay out of direct sunlight for a few days and always apply sunscreen when going outside.
10. Post-Peel: If skin starts to peel, do not pull dead skin off, apply moisturiser and let skin heal on its own. On day 5 after the peel, apply Soft Papaya & Pumpkin Mask – do not rub. Remove after 10 – 15 minutes with warm water. Apply moisturiser and sunscreen.
